The secret of some rich people do not lie on building and owning their own corporations and conglomerates but rather on investing in shares or stocks. In this way, they do not need to report to an office everyday or make investment decisions on machines, etc. Playing in the stock market has only two requirements – big money to buy stocks and good business and number sense.
The secret of playing the stock market lies on the diversity of the stocks invested. It is very important to buy stocks from different industries. The diversity of stocks should either be resilient even on difficult financial times like those from the mining industry or those that possess good premium value. Of course this is also that assumption of knowing the basics of stocks and familiarity on different market behaviors and industries.
One simple rule that should prevent a starter from committing a mistake – playing in the stock market is indeed playing and not to hold on to shares or stocks as long as one wants to. It can be a combination of hunch and number crunching as well as there are no exact formula when to sell or not stocks. The only obvious considerations are the market behavior currently prevailing and industries that have premium stocks.
